Course contents and activities
This course covers the basics of AWT, and moves on to using Swing in power mode. Attendees will come away with an excellent grasp of how to design graphical applications in Java, using the full capabilities of Swing, including 2D rendering. The course includes a final project building a full-fledged Swing application.
Mastering Swing and AWT contains over 20 lab exercises, each designed to give attendees a clear understanding and practical experience of using the key constructs needed to build actual applications. By the end of the course attendees would have built a complete stand-alone application and applet utilizing the classes discussed in the course. Participants will return with an excellent understanding of GUI and graphics development in Java.
