The C++ Standard Template Library (STL) Using
C++ in High Gear
Duration: 1 day
Class size: Up to 12 students
Who should attend?
C++ designers and developers who wish to learn how to use the STL for
greater productivity and generality.
Prerequisites: Good knowledge of C++.
What will you gain?
- An introduction to a comprehensive set of general-purpose and
type-safe data structures and algorithms in C++ to boost productivity and
robustness of code,
- A hands-on experience of programming with STL, now a part of the C++
standard,
- An insight into how to use STL to make dramatic improvements to your
current coding techniques.
Course contents:
The Standard Template Library (STL) is a combination of lectures
and lab-exercises. Students are introduced briefly to the C++ template
construct, which makes STL possible. A variety of STL elements are then
discussed, followed by a lab-exercise for each major element. About 50% of
the course time is comprised of lab exercises, which illustrate the concepts
discussed in the lectures.
